Much like the titular character, Guardians of the Galaxy shouldn’t work, but it does thanks to its memorable characters, great soundtrack, and fun action.

With great performances, well-choreographed and tense action sequences, and an intriguing story, Captain America: The Winter Soldier surpasses the original.

Despite decent performances and some interesting visuals, Thor: The Dark World is bogged down by uninteresting characters, a weak story, and dull pacing.

While not as strong as the first, Iron Man 3 easily overcomes the second film thanks to its strong performances, witty script, and great story.

With great characters, a well-written script, and an overall sense of fun, The Avengers is everything a major blockbuster should be.
